SCIENTIFIC GROUP ” LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT “

Over the past twenty years, logistics has moved out of warehouses and transport terminals and penetrated all levels and branches of the economy. Today, logistics is the backbone of business, its main task is to ensure flow processes (materials, finances, information) from the producer to the consumer. In today’s hyper-competitive world, when the fight is not for life, but for death, any, even a small advantage allows the company to survive, gain a foothold in the market. One of the most important indicators in business – the cost of production – today largely depends on logistics.

A competently constructed logistics chain has a significant impact on the cost of the product itself, and requires a serious study of all areas of flow processes. Business is based on a polygon – management, innovation, logistics, finance and marketing, if you remove one of the sides, the polygon will turn into a “crooked” system. Therefore, enterprises need to ensure the interconnection of all components of success. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, there are very few specialists in the field of logistics, because very recently some leading universities, including the Department of Management of Ihor Sikorskyi KPI, began to train specialists in the relevant direction. And we hope that our academic group “Logistics Management” will be a guarantee of the successful development of systematized theoretical knowledge in logistics of our students and will help them to be better equipped practically.

The activities of students in the scientific circle have already been repeatedly recognized as prize-winners at all-Ukrainian and international Olympiads, among the participants are winners of all-Ukrainian contests of scientific works, many theses and scientific articles have been published within the circle. So, the last victory for our circle (2017-2018 year) was brought by the sixth-year student Elizaveta Horyaistova with her research paper “Increasing the competitiveness of imported products on the Ukrainian market due to the optimization of the company’s logistics processes (on the example of Titan Machinery Ukraine LLC”), which took 2nd place at the all-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works, the second full-time round of which was held at the Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy named after I. Beketov at the Department of Logistics.
